Weda Bay Nickel, in which Eramet is a co-shareholder, is an integral part of the Groups strategy to support the energy transition in a sustainable way by providing leading-edge solutions to meet the needs of the new metals era.
The Weda Bay Nickel mine, located on the island of Halmahera in northeast Indonesia, recently went into production in 2019. As part of a partnership with the Chinese steel group Tsingshan, the worlds leading producer of stainless steel and the majority shareholder of PT Weda Bay Nickel, Eramet brings its technical and operational expertise on the mining operations.
Senior Mine Engineer W/M
Responsibilities
- Mine Design & Planning
- Prepare sub-pit designs, dump layouts, road and ramp networks, sediment ponds
- Define monthly sequences for mining, dumping, hauling, and rehabilitation
- Size and locate equipment needs for each zone
- Mid-Term Plan Delivery
- Deliver rolling 2Y3M plans aligned with LOM strategy and ST execution
- Ensure compliance with RKAB, PPKH, PAK, PERTERK as required
- Support LT mine engineers for FS/AMDAL inputs and reporting
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Coordinate with rehabilitation, water management and quarry sourcing teams
- Work closely with ST planners to align sequencing and contractor readiness
- Provide technical support to operations and contractor teams for implementation
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Track compliance to plan and propose corrective actions as needed
- Support reporting to internal management and external stakeholders (monthly/quarterly)
About You
- Bachelors or Masters in Mining Engineering
- Minimum 58 years in mine planning, with strong exposure to design and sequencing
- Proficient in mine planning software (Surpac, Minesched, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of dump, road, water, and pit design principles
- Strong analytical and planning capabilities
- Coordination and communication with multidisciplinary teams
- English required; Bahasa/Mandarin is a plus
