Our Client is a leading independent contract laboratory based in West Africa, recognized as a regional reference provider of analytical services across food, water, petroleum, mining, agriculture, and textiles. Operating under international quality and compliance standards, the laboratory partners with multinational and local companies to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory acceptance in global supply chains. Location: Ivory Coast (West Africa)

About the Role

The Senior Laboratory Manager will lead a multidisciplinary laboratory team, overseeing pesticide, microbiology, and physico-chemical testing units. This role combines scientific authority with people management, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025, driving operational excellence, and strengthening the laboratorys technical capacity to meet international standards.

Top 6 Must-Haves

• 6-8 years experience in accredited laboratories (ISO 17025), with strong exposure across pesticide, microbiology, and physico-chemical testing.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, including mentoring junior scientists and technicians.
• Demonstrated ability to validate, review, and sign off on analytical results as the technical authority.
• Strong knowledge of international quality and safety standards, with experience in audits and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to liaise with international clients and regulators.
• Track record in process improvement and implementing best practices in laboratory operations.

Top 4 Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working in a third-party/independent testing laboratory serving multiple industries.
• Familiarity with West African or emerging market contexts, particularly in supporting multinational clients.
• Additional language ability (e.g., French) to support regional collaboration will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with accreditation processes beyond ISO 17025 (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
