Sales Director – ASEAN

Organization: This is a key leadership role within the organization, responsible for driving the regional business strategy, leading a high-performing team, and further developing the market across Southeast Asia for a specialized business unit serving the food and beverage sector and other related industries. The successful candidate will lead a team of managers across Southeast Asia and will be expected to define and drive the regional sales strategy, build organizational capability, strengthen customer relationships, and work closely with global stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy and Growth : You will define and drive the business strategy for the region, identifying growth opportunities, improving market penetration, and strengthening the company's position across Southeast Asia.

Sales Leadership : You will lead and develop the regional sales organization, ensuring clear direction, strong commercial execution, and sustainable business growth across key markets and customer segments.

Market Development: You will further develop the company's presence in the food and beverage sector and support expansion into new applications and priority verticals, while maintaining strong relationships with key customers.

People Management : You will lead, coach, and develop a team of managers and sales professionals across the region, helping to build a strong commercial culture and improve capability for future growth.

Stakeholder Management : A critical part of the role will involve close coordination with central and global business stakeholders. You will act as a bridge between the regional organization and global teams from the business unit.

Commercial and Operational Performance : You will manage a sizeable business portfolio in the region, with responsibility for delivering revenue growth, supporting profitability, and ensuring sound commercial and operational discipline.

Your Profile:

  • Engineering, Business, or a related degree. A technical background would be an advantage, though not essential.
  • 12 to 15 years of experience in B2B sales of capital equipment, process equipment, engineered solutions for the food and beverage or related industrial sector.
  • Proven regional experience within Southeast Asia in a commercial or management role.
  • Prior experience in leading and developing sales teams across multiple countries.
  • Strong track record of managing a meaningful business size and driving growth in a regional setup.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and collaborate with global stakeholders.
  • Highly influential, empathetic, and culturally competent with a good understanding of the ASEAN market.
  • A talented negotiator with a balance of creativity, flexibility, rigor, and a focus on profitability.
