About The Role:
Corporate & Commercial Legal Support
- Support legal counsel in drafting and reviewing a wide variety of commercial contracts and banking agreements (e.g., loan agreements, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements) in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Support legal counsel in providing legal opinions on day-to-day banking operational issues, including consumer banking, lending, and digital banking initiatives.
- Managing the company's corporate secretarial duties, ensuring all corporate documents are accurately maintained and filed in close collaboration with the Corporate Secretary Division.
- Managing all company's executed 3rd party contracts and monitor the validity of the contract period Oversee contract signing process in the bank side
- Managing all of the company's legal documents (including but not limited to POA)
- Translate legal documents and summarize complex Indonesian regulatory changes into English for international stakeholders.
Legal Research & Risk Management
- Monitor updates to Indonesian laws and regulations (including but not limited to Undang-Undang, Government Regulation, OJK Regulation, Bank Indonesia Regulation, etc.).
- Support Legal Counsel in preparing Regulatory updates and socialization material for all departments in the Bank Assist Legal Counsel in conducting gap analysis between local regulations and the Bank's internal policies to ensure full compliance on both fronts.
- Conduct in-depth legal research on emerging banking trends (e.g., Fintech, Data Privacy/PDP Law) to advise business units on potential risks.
- Assist legal counsel in managing legal cases in litigation and/or arbitration proceedings.
External Communication, Group Communication, Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key liaison for legal inquiries between the Indonesian entity and the overseas Parent Company/Group Legal team.
- Participate in conference calls and meetings with regional or global teams to align on cross-border legal strategies.
- Assist Legal Counsel in communicating with external counsel and/or consultants if necessary.
- Act as a key liaison for legal inquiries between the Bank and a notary.
About You:
- A Bachelor's degree in Law (Sarjana Hukum) from a reputable university in Indonesia.
- 12 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable corporate law firm (banking/finance practice) or in- house legal department within the banking or financial services sector.
- Familiarity with Indonesian Company Law and Banking Law is essential.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast- paced banking environment.
- Cultural awareness and adaptability to work with international teams.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
