Job Description

The VP of Growth & Strategy is a high-impact leadership role responsible for steering the long-term trajectory of a large-scale retail ecosystem. This executive will oversee the intersection of market expansion, digital transformation, and operational excellence. The primary objective is to identify new revenue streams, optimize current business models, and ensure the company remains a market leader in a rapidly evolving consumer landscape.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Lead the annual and multi-year strategic planning process, translating high-level vision into actionable roadmaps across all retail units.
  • Conduct rigorous market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and white-space opportunities in the Indonesian retail sector.
  • Oversee corporate development initiatives, including potential mergers, acquisitions (M&A), and strategic partnerships.

2. Growth & Market Expansion


  • Drive the Route-to-Market strategy for new territories and urban centers.
  • Optimize the existing store portfolio through data-driven performance analysis and format innovation.
  • Develop and implement cross-channel growth strategies that integrate physical retail footprints with digital commerce platforms.

3. Digital & Data Transformation


  • Champion the use of advanced data analytics to improve customer acquisition, retention, and Life Time Value (LTV).
  • Work closely with the Tech and Product teams to enhance the omnichannel customer journey.
  • Implement frameworks for Growth Hacking within the retail context to test and scale marketing and operational efficiencies.

4. Operational Excellence & Synergy


  • Identify and execute cost-optimization and process-improvement initiatives across various business functions.
  • Foster cross-functional synergy between Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure unified growth targets.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of strategy managers and business analysts.

Required Qualifications


  • Education: MBA or Master's degree from a top-tier university (Business, Economics, or Engineering preferred).
  • Experience: 12+ years of experience in Management Consulting (Big 3/Tier 1), Private Equity, or a senior Strategy/Growth role within a major retail or FMCG organization.
  • Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear, executive-level recommendations.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Indonesian consumer market, retail regulations, and the digital economy.
  • Leadership: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence C-suite executives and board members.
  • Communication: Native-level fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and professional proficiency in English.
