Our pulp and paper is capable of producing up to 4 million tons of pulp and 1.15 million tons of paper per year. The mill is one of TOP FIVE MOST EFFICIENT pulp and paper mills in the world. It uses world-class engineering and technology to produce quality pulp and paper products. We operate the mill on the principles of lean manufacturing, which results in efficient practices in the use of energy and water and in minimizing emissions.
Currently, we are looking for Senior Media Relations Coordinator, this position will lead and execute media relations strategies to strengthen companys reputation, build strong engagement with key media stakeholders, and support the companys communication objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies aligned with corporate communication priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets.
- Act as a key point of contact for media inquiries and manage press engagements.
- Plan, draft, and distribute press releases, statements, opinion pieces, and media kits.
- Provide media briefings and talking points for company leadership.
- Monitor media coverage, analyze sentiment, and prepare reports with actionable insights.
- Manage and coordinate press conferences, media visits, and interviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sustainability, operations, HR, etc.) to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members in media relations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or related field.
- 68 years of experience in media relations, corporate communications, or public affairs, preferably in multinational or large-scale organizations.
- Proven track record in managing media relations and handling high-profile issues/crises.
- Strong understanding of local socio-political and cultural context.
- Strong network of contacts, build and maintain strong relationships with local journalists, editors, and media outlets.
- Excellent communication and writing skills in Bahasa Indonesia (English proficiency is an advantage).
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident in advising senior leaders and managing high-pressure situations.
- Resilient, adaptable, and willing to go the extra mile to deliver impactful results.
- Experience in handling corporate, sustainability, or community-related communication is a plus.
