Overview
The SAP Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering SAP implementation or enhancement projects across the organization. This role ensures that all SAP-related projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business requirements while aligning with corporate objectives and technology standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle of SAP implementation, rollout, or upgrade initiatives from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Coordinate and manage cross-functional project teams, including SAP functional consultants, developers, and business users.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk management frameworks.
- Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and external SAP vendors or partners.
- Define project scope, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders.
- Ensure all project activities comply with corporate governance, quality standards, and SAP best practices.
- Oversee change management, user acceptance testing (UAT), and end-user training to ensure successful adoption.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and resource utilization; provide regular status reports to executive leadership.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or cost overruns.
- Drive post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SAP system performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing SAP implementation or upgrade projects.
- Proven experience in full-cycle SAP project delivery (planning, execution, go-live, and stabilization).
- Strong knowledge of SAP modules and integration points (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM, etc.).
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills; able to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with SAP Activate or ASAP methodology.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
