Job Description

The role of the QC Cleaning - Housekeeping & Laundry is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of housekeeping services and continuously monitoring day to day operation of Laundry, giving direction & feedback to ensure the laundry result up to standard. This role involves monitoring cleaning processes, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The specialist will work closely with housekeeping staff and management to implement best practices and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Conduct regular quality checks and audits of all housekeeping services to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Train housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, the use of cleaning equipment, and safety protocols to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Perform detailed inspections of rooms, common areas, and service facilities.
  • Prepare reports on findings and recommend improvements.
  • Identify areas for improvement in housekeeping processes and collaborate with management to implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure that all cleaning activities adhere to environmental, health, and safety standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Liaise with other departments and management to coordinate activities and address any quality-related issues.
  • Validate the quantity of chemicals used in daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Validate data of tools and equipment and data of total manpower based on contract.
  • Validate the quality of laundry output under his/ her responsible based on the laundry standard that has been approved.

What skills and experience do you need

  • A degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in housekeeping or quality control, preferably from hospitality industry or cruise ship companies.
  • Extensive knowledge of cleaning techniques, hygiene standards, and quality control processes
  • Understanding of infection control procedures and safety guidelines
  • Have a knowledge of laundry chemicals (function, dosage, etc)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, customers, and vendors. Ability to listen actively and resolve conflicts or concerns professionally
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality control
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges related to cleaning, laundry operations, and customer service. Capacity to make quick decisions and implement effective solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
