Role Introduction
To support the Regional Marketing Team in the Customer Travel, Lifestyle, and Cargo pillars and coordinate with local agencies to adapt regional and global materials for effective local use.
To support the Regional PR and Social Media manager to shape positive public perceptions, enhance brand reputation and manage crises effectively.
To protect and promote the brand reputation of the Cathay Pacific group across all media platforms (traditional, digital, and social).
Key Responsibilities
Insights Gathering and Reporting
- Provide stakeholders with insights into local marketing intelligence, activities, and/or news.
Localisation
- Execute global and regional campaigns in local market and ensure that these campaigns are adapted according to local culture and sensitivities.
- Assist with the organisation of local sales and trade events if required
Marketing
- Develop and deliver local marketing campaigns to drive commercial objectives in the Customer Travel, Lifestyle and Cargo pillars.
- Function as a brand custodian and ensure that internal and external marketing materials are brand compliant.
- Ensure local collateral stock levels are maintained appropriately
Loyalty
- Identify, develop, and deliver local earn and burn opportunities that are jointly agreed with Regional and Head Office.
- Execute initiatives to promote the Cathay membership programme and acquire new members.
- Support Cathay member engagement initiatives as required.
Public Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local media (traditional media, key opinion leaders/influencers)
- Identify opportunities to positively profile senior management, such as through interviews, public speaking engagements and social media. Draft talking points/content.
- Organise and support local PR events.
Social Media
- Suggest social media content with local insights and local language requirements and work with regional team and agency for delivery
- Adapt suitable global and regional social media content for local use
Corporate Social Responsibility
- Coordinate logistics and local participation as and when required
Customer Relations
- In Outports where there is no dedicated Customer Relations role, the Marketing and Public Relations role is expected to take ownership of CRD case handling including:
- Act as the point of escalation to address complex responses, special and legal cases
- Assist to prepare templates and responses in the local language
- Work with local legal counsel and regulatory bodies in handling special cases as required Help to build, strengthen and protect the brand by responding to complaints in a timely and professional manner
Emergency and Accident Communications
Support E&A communications with backing from the regional Public Relations lead and Head Office, as required.

Academic Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Training And Experience
- At least 3 years experience of working in a Marketing and/or PR environment
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Fluency in local language.
- Good understanding of the local media landscape (mainstream and social).
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines, ensuring speed to market whilst maintaining quality of work.
- Capable of working outside of office hours in response to urgent Corporate Affairs matters
- Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly organised with a creative eye for detail, and possess a strong passion for marketing.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Discreet individual, who can be trusted with confidential material
