Position Overview
As a Line Management Business Controller at Meratus Group, this will be the key role in managing the financial performance of the business by providing accurate reporting, financial
analysis, and strategic support. This position is responsible for monitoring financial outcomes, ensuring budget compliance and supporting business leaders in data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control business expenditures (product, project or services).
- Prepare periodic (monthly, quarterly) and adhoc cost reports and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain cost tracking tools and dashboards.
- Assist in preparing budgets, financial and cost estimates.
- Analyse cost variances and provide explanations for deviations.
- Manage accruals, deferred cost/expenses and committed purchase items.
- Liaise across Departments and/or Business Units to ensure cost alignment and accuracy.
- Validate invoices and progress claims against budgets.
- Support internal and external audits with relevant cost documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvement in cost recognition and reporting.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and advise on cost optimization (saving) strategies (GOL).
- Ensure cost compliance with company Policy, Procedure, Process & Working Instruction (P3W). Including lookout to lease type expenses for compliance to IFRS 16.
Qualifications
- A bachelor&aposs degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is essential.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with a focus on cost management, financial planning, and analysis. Experience with cost control in a project-based environment is highly desirable.
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, with a specific understanding of IFRS 16 (Leases) to ensure compliance.
- Deep understanding of business operations, strategy, and market dynamics.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with various departments and present financial information clearly.
