Serve as the go-to legal advisor for the business team (Investment, International Business, and Special Projects)
Engage early in new product innovation, digital initiatives, and market expansion plans to identify risks and opportunities
Translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, business-friendly solutions that support business growth
Provide legal support for investments, from screening and due diligence to NDA drafting and deal structuring (equity, joint ventures, strategic alliances)
Coordinate with external law firms, advisors, and regulators as required
Advise on cross-border trade, foreign investment regulations, entity set-up, and expansion models (subsidiary, JV, distributor agreements) including local partnerships
Handle international agreements and ensure compliance with trade, regulatory, and labeling requirements in foreign markets.
Support alliances with digital platforms and ensure compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital law in overseas operations
Manage deal risks, oversee post-deal governance, and ensure investment and international activities comply with Indonesian law, ownership limits, and ESG
Develop agreement playbooks, train teams on key legal topics, and build a repository of best practices for future expansion
Requirements
Bachelors of Law, Masters degree in Law
Minimum 8 10 years of relevant legal experience, with exposure to corporate, commercial, and cross-border transactions
Proven ability to act as a strategic business partner, translating complex legal and regulatory issues into practical business solutions
Strong experience in investment structuring (equity, joint ventures, strategic alliances) and international business expansion
Solid understanding of Indonesian law, foreign investment regulations, and trade compliance
Demonstrated capability in drafting and negotiating international agreements and managing legal risks in global markets
Strong stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate across functions (Finance, Strategy, Business, external advisors, and regulators)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and training skills to influence non-legal stakeholders
High adaptability, resilience, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
Proficient in English, ability to speak other language is a plus point
