Job Description

Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia, on behalf of a world-class data center company, is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer that will be responsible for on-site construction and expansion electrical activities, with a strong emphasis on reviewing electrical designs, shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee electrical engineering activities for data center construction and expansion projects, covering power distribution systems, MV/LV infrastructure, UPS, generators, transformers, switchgear, and other critical electrical systems.
  • Review electrical designs, shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements, engineering standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from design and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Monitor construction activities and quality, resolve technical issues, and ensure electrical works are delivered in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Witness and validate testing and commissioning activities to ensure all electrical systems operate as designed and meet project requirements prior to handover.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical systems following project completion, providing technical guidance and support to the Facility Operations team.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical documentation, SOPs, and best practices to support the long-term reliability, maintainability, and operation of electrical infrastructure.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to system performance, power reliability, energy efficiency, operational resilience, and lifecycle costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within data centers, mission-critical facilities, MEP consulting, or major construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of MV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, generators, transformers, switchgear, PDUs, grounding, lightning protection, and related electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience in design review, construction supervision, testing and commissioning, vendor coordination, quality control, and project handover.
  • Familiarity with relevant international standards and guidelines, such as IEC, IEEE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute standards, NFPA, and applicable local regulations.
  • Proficient in reviewing engineering drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), specifications, BoQs, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, vendors, procurement teams, and facility operations.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, ATD, CDCP, or equivalent certifications are an advantage.
  • Willing to be based in Jakarta, Indonesia
