About The Role

Are you a passionate DevOps Engineer ready to architect, maintain, and innovate high-scale, AWS-based infrastructure for a global learning platform Join our dynamic MoodleCloud Technical Operations team where you&aposll co-own highly available systems, champion CI/CD best practices, and play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless performance and automation of our hosting solutions. What You&aposll Do

  • Co-own and evolve our highly available, AWS-based infrastructure, ensuring seamless performance for a global learning platform
  • Lead exciting DevOps projects that shape the future of MoodleCloud
  • Champion and implement best practices for deployment, availability, performance, and automation
  • Drive continuous improvement in our CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and configuration management
  • Proactively identify and propose innovative new projects to enhance our technical landscape
  • Maintain and update critical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy for all
  • Keep our applications cutting-edge by taking ownership of application updates
  • Contribute expertise through meticulous code reviews for our applications
  • Collaborate on quality by writing and reviewing comprehensive test plans
  • Resolve critical infrastructure issues swiftly and effectively, minimising impact
  • Engage and support our vibrant community forums, sharing your knowledge
  • Provide timely resolution and clear communication during critical incidents
  • Join a collaborative team that values your input and active participation in agile practices

Requirements

We&aposd love to meet you

Especially if you can tell us about your:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members
  • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining robust web application infrastructure
  • Skilled in creating and maintaining multi-tenant, multi-region, highly available systems
  • You have product-led environment experience and are comfortable working within a dynamic, product-focused software organisation
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code principles and methodologies
  • Proficient in general security concepts and best practices across servers, networks, and applications
  • Extensive experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, Elasticache, Lambda, Security Groups, IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, etc.)
  • Expertise in monitoring and troubleshooting network, system, and application issues
  • Solid background in Linux system administration, ideally with Ubuntu or Debian
  • Good experience with monitoring and logging within diverse ecosystems
  • Experience with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MySQL on AWS RDS

  • You have relevant AWS Certifications, with bonus points for Python/PHP knowledge and Moodle project contributions
