Job Description

We are a global outsourcing agency on the lookout for a Business Development Executive for one of our clients. As a Business Development Executive, you will play a key role in managing the front end of the client journey, engaging with prospects before and after seminars, understanding their needs, qualifying their interest, and helping them take the next step toward a private consultation with the Principal Consultant.

This is not a traditional appointment-setting, telemarketing, or cold-calling role. We are looking for someone who is naturally comfortable speaking with people, can build rapport quickly, understands how to guide a conversation, and takes ownership of the relationship from initial contact through to consultation.

Job Title: Business Development Executive

Client Location: Singapore

Working Days/Hours: Full-Time / Flexible Schedule based on seminar and client activity

Contract Type: Full-Time Contract

Contract Term: 1 Year, Renewable

Monthly Salary: SGD 900 - 950

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage seminar attendee and prospect lists, including pre-event confirmations and basic coordination.
  • Reach out to seminar attendees after events to gather feedback and continue the conversation while the seminar experience is still fresh.
  • Engage prospects in natural, professional conversations to understand their needs, interest, urgency, and suitability for a consultation.
  • Qualify leads and identify which prospects are genuinely interested and appropriate to progress to the Principal Consultant.
  • Position the Principal Consultant clearly and confidently, helping prospects understand the value of having a private consultation.
  • Introduce warm leads to the company's Financial Health Checkup Questionnaire and explain its value using the provided scripts and materials.
  • Coordinate and schedule qualified prospects for consultations with the Principal Consultant.
  • Maintain regular communication with prospects until they are successfully handed over for consultation.
  • Re-engage past or inactive leads using financial updates, Singapore policy changes, market articles, or other materials provided by the team.
  • Keep accurate notes on prospect conversations and ensure important information is passed to the Principal Consultant before each consultation.
  • Take ownership of follow-ups and ensure opportunities do not become inactive due to lack of communication.
  • Support additional business development or marketing activities as the role evolves.

  • The Profile We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone who is highly people-oriented and naturally enjoys speaking with clients and prospects.

You should be the kind of person who can have a real conversation rather than simply read from a script. You are able to listen carefully, pick up on what someone is actually saying, ask appropriate follow-up questions, and adapt your approach depending on the person you are speaking with.

You should also be comfortable representing a senior consultant and communicating with mature professionals, business owners, and executives in Singapore.

The right person will ideally be:

    • Warm, personable, and approachable.
    • Confident speaking with new people over the phone, Zoom, and WhatsApp.
    • Naturally conversational and able to build rapport quickly.
    • Professional and polished without sounding overly scripted or robotic.
    • Curious and able to ask good questions to understand a prospect's situation.
    • A strong listener who can identify important information during a conversation.
    • Comfortable explaining value and encouraging someone to take the next step without being overly aggressive or pushy.
    • Proactive and willing to take initiative instead of waiting for instructions.
    • Accountable and reliable with follow-ups.
    • Comfortable managing multiple ongoing conversations at different stages.
    • Organized enough to keep track of prospects, appointments, and follow-up actions.
    • Resilient and comfortable following up more than once when someone does not immediately respond.
    • Adaptable and comfortable working in an environment where workload may fluctuate around seminars and events.
    • Independent and capable of working remotely without constant supervision.
    • Willing to learn and become familiar with the client's services, positioning, and consultation process.

We are open to junior-to-mid-level candidates. Years of experience are useful, but we are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate strong communication skills, confidence, initiative, and the ability to build relationships.

    Qualifications:

    • Ideally 1-4 years of experience in Business Development, Customer Success, Account Management, Relationship Management, Inside Sales, Banking Support, Premium Hospitality, Recruitment, Admissions, Client Services, or another client-facing role.
    • Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong listening and questioning skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
    • Strong accountability and follow-through.
    • Comfortable making calls and communicating professionally through WhatsApp, Zoom, email, and other messaging platforms.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Experience dealing with professional, corporate, or high-value clients is an advantage.
    • Experience in financial services, banking, insurance, wealth management, or professional services is an advantage but not required.
    • Experience nurturing warm or inbound leads is an advantage.
    • Familiarity with CRM systems is an advantage.
    • Conversational Mandarin or Chinese is an advantage but not mandatory.
    • Must have access to a reliable computer/laptop and stable internet connection.
    • Must be comfortable with a flexible schedule, as workload may increase around seminars and post-event follow-ups.
    • Occasional Saturday availability may be required depending on seminar and prospect schedules.
    • Candidates should ideally not be committed to another full-time role due to the flexibility and responsiveness required.

    Application Requirements:

As part of the application process, candidates are required to provide a video introduction.

To be considered for this position:

    1. Submit your application through the job posting.
    2. After submitting your application, send an email to [Confidential Information] with your video introduction.

In your video, please briefly introduce yourself and share:

    • Your current or most recent role.
    • Your client-facing, sales, business development, or relationship management experience.
    • The types of clients or customers you have communicated with.
    • Why you are interested in this role.
    • Why you believe you would be a good fit for a client-facing Business Development position.

    Important Video Guidelines:

    • Your video must be recorded by you and must not be AI-generated or AI-presented.
    • Please do not read from a prepared script.
    • We strongly encourage you to speak freely, naturally, and in your own words.
    • There is no need for a highly polished or professionally edited video.
    • We would much rather see how you communicate naturally, so relax, be yourself, and let your personality shine.
    • Keep your introduction concise and conversational.
    • Applications without the requested video introduction may not be considered.
