Assistant Tax Manager
Job Description
About the Role:
- Oversee and review monthly tax compliance, including VAT, WHT Articles 4(2), 23/26, and Article 21(Professional Services), ensuring accurate calculation, payment, reconciliation, and timely filing in accordance with applicable tax regulations.
- Lead the VAT calculation and reporting process, including reconciliation of Input VAT, Output VAT, and tax bases (DPP).
- Manage collection and review of DGT-1 Forms and Certificate of Residence (COR/TRC) from overseas vendors to support the application of applicable tax treaty benefits.
- Prepare and review Nominative Lists for promotional expenses, marketing expenses, NPL and receivable write off.
- Assist in Corporate Income Tax compliance, fiscal reconciliation, Transfer Pricing Documentation, and related tax reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and support tax audits and tax dispute matters, including the preparation of supporting documents and responses to tax authority requests.
- Collaborate with Finance Controller, Accounting, Finance Operation, HR, GA, Branches and other business functions to ensure proper tax treatment, compliance, and effective tax controls.
- Ensure effective tax documentation, internal controls, and compliance monitoring, while identifying opportunities to improve tax processes and mitigate potential tax risks.
- Supervise and review work of Tax Staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of tax related activities.
- Support Tax Department Head in tax compliance, tax advisory, tax risk management, and day to day tax operations.
About You:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in tax, preferably within thebanking/financial services industry or a reputable tax consulting firm (Big Four experience with banking clients is highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and related tax regulations.
- Proficient in Coretax, DJP Online, E-Faktur, Unification, E-Form, and AEOI.
- Mandatory Brevet A & B certification (Brevet C is a strong advantage).
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills, with the ability to review and validate tax calculations and supporting documents.
- Proven team management skills, including the ability to coordinate, supervise, and develop team members.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- High initiative, proactive mindset, strong ownership, and ability to make sound decisions and provide practical tax solutions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- High integrity, confidentiality, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning, with familiarity with banking/financial services tax treatment.
