Role Overview
We are looking for a Swiss-knife UI Designer who will take ownership of day-to-day product interface design for our mobile app and LMS web app. This role is highly production-focused: turning user requirements and copy into clean, functional, and scalable designs that developers can implement directly.
You'll collaborate with product managers, developers, and copywriters to translate learning flows into user-friendly interfaces, build and maintain a design system, and deliver well-structured files ready for development handoff.
What You'll Do
- UI Design & Execution
- Create responsive, intuitive layouts for web and mobile learning experiences.
- Translate wireframes, requirements, and user stories into polished, developer-ready designs.
- Design System & Components
- Build and maintain a reusable design system in Figma.
- Define clear standards for typography, color, buttons, forms, icons, and navigation.
- Workflow & Collaboration
- Work closely with developers to ensure accurate and efficient implementation.
- Partner with Copywriter/Content team to integrate copy seamlessly into UI.
- Participate in sprint planning and contribute to product backlog refinement.
- File Prep & QA
- Deliver organized, layered files with proper naming conventions.
- Perform design QA during development builds to ensure pixel-perfect accuracy.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify usability issues and propose design refinements.
- Stay updated on UI trends, accessibility standards, and best practices in edtech design.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Figma (primary), plus familiarity with Adobe CC or similar tools.
- Solid experience designing mobile apps (iOS/Android) and responsive web apps.
- Understanding of design systems and scalable component libraries.
- Strong foundation in typography, color theory, and layout principles.
- Attention to detail, with a production mindset (consistency, specs, exports).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in a remote setup.
- Familiarity with developer handoff tools (Figma Inspect, Zeplin, Avocode, etc.).
- Bonus skills:
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS basics.
- Experience with accessibility/WCAG standards.
- Background in education or LMS platforms.
