Scope: Regional Lead (AU, TH, ID, CN, IN, MY) + Direct Hands-On Lead for Indonesia and direct responsibility for Australia
Reporting Line: Global People Services Director
Role Description:
Based in Jakarta, you will play a dual role: leading our regional People Services function across, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and India, while acting as the hands-on operational HR lead for Indonesia & Australia.
You will combine leadership with direct execution—managing Indonesian payroll, compliance, and employee lifecycle directly, while standardizing regional HR processes, overseeing vendor performance, and mentoring your team across APAC.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Indonesia HR Operations
- End-to-End Employee Lifecycle: Directly manage local onboarding, contract generation, probation, offboarding, and visa/work permit processes
- Payroll & Benefits Execution: Run and verify Indonesian payroll, BPJS (Health & Employment), taxes, and local benefit programs with zero-error accuracy.
- Local Compliance & Relations: Act as the primary subject matter expert for Indonesian Labor Law (UU Cipta Kerja), handling local audits, employee queries, and grievances.
Regional Leadership & Process Standardization
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the APAC People Services team, setting performance goals and building a high-service HR culture.
- APAC Process Optimization: Harmonize payroll, onboarding, and administrative workflows across Australia, Thailand, China, and India to build efficient, scalable operations.
- Vendor & Mobility Management: Drive accountability with regional payroll/HR outsourcing partners and oversee international relocation and expat programs.
Governance, HRIS & Integration
- Multi-Country Compliance: Ensure company policies align with local employment laws, data protection regulations, and audit standardizations (e.g., SOX) across all 5 markets.
- HRIS & Data Integrity: Maintain pristine employee records, tracking headcount, turnover, and T&A data to deliver accurate HR analytics.
- Entity Integration: Support the administrative and system integration of new legal entities or acquisitions within APAC.
Your Profile:
- Experience: 5+ years in a Senior HR Specialist role, with 2+ years leading a team in a multi-country APAC setting.
- Regional Exposure: Familiarity with HR and payroll practices, vendor management, labor laws and international mobility in Australia, Thailand, China, Malaysia or India.
- Indonesia Operational Expertise: Deep, hands-on mastery of Indonesian labor regulations.
- Languages: Business fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken) is essential.
- Execution + Leadership Mindset: A proactive no task is too small attitude—equally comfortable executing local payroll hands-on as you are guiding regional strategy.
- High level of autonomy: An ability to work independently due to global reporting lines
- Systems & Accuracy: Tech-savvy with strong HRIS implementation experience and sharp attention to detail.
