I. BACKGROUND
Clean Air Asia is an international non-governmental organization leading the regional mission for better air quality, and healthier, more livable cities throughout Asia. Our mission is to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in Asia and contribute to the development of a more sustainable, equitable and healthier region. We empower governments and cities by inspiring action and focusing efforts on the planning and implementation of solutions at scale, fostering regional cooperation to address issues of mutual concern, and ensuring the integration of air quality management across sectors and institutions. Our work focuses on implementing solutions that reduce air pollution, its detrimental health impacts and mitigate the climate crisis. We do so by providing policy guidance, building capacity, and making a compelling case for action among stakeholders at city, national, and regional levels. Since 2008, we have been a United Nations-recognized partnership comprised of more than 250 organizations in Asia and internationally, with six Country Networks (Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam). Our headquarters are in Manila, Philippines, and we have offices in Beijing, China, and New Delhi, India.Clean Air Asia is currently expanding its portfolio to conduct the work to achieve clean air and combating climate change in Indonesia. Under the Indonesia office, our portfolio includes promoting clean air action plan, provide research to formulate evidence-based policies, and implementation of solution to achieve clean air in the city.
We are currently recruiting for a Sustainable Mobility Lead on full-time consultancy contract to join our dynamic team at Clean Air Asia in Jakarta, Indonesia. We are looking for someone who has an experience in conducting research on transportation in relation to air quality management, project management, implement projects on low carbon transportation including EV adoption in Indonesia, familiar on working with Indonesia government, and a good team player.
Ii. Job Purpose
To provide technical assistance and support to project implementation, management, and stakeholder engagement, as well as deliver outputs in accordance with Clean Air Asias standards.
Iii. Responsibilities And Scope Of Work
Under the direct supervision of the Indonesia Director, the primary duties of the Sustainable Mobility Lead will include:
- Provide support in program development and management for sustainable mobility or low carbon transportation portfolio under Indonesia office.
- Lead project management and implementation for sustainable mobility or low carbon transportation portfolio. The leadership role also includes research projects.
- Lead the coordination and engagement with respective city government, national government and other collaborators in implementing the projects under air quality and climate.
- Formulate a project report respective to the deliverables of the project.
- Performing other roles and tasks related to the project.
- Support the implementation of other projects under Clean Air Asias Policy, Research, and Outreach Program as assigned by the Indonesia Director.
Iv. Eligibility Requirements And Criteria
- A minimum of 5 years&apos experience in conducting and leading low carbon transportation related projects.
- An advanced degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Experience in project management is an advantage.
- Advanced knowledge and operation of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis and modelling tools (e.g. LEAP-IBC, GAINS, etc) is an advantage.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; with strong written, analytical, presentation and reporting skills.
- Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to do research, analyze, and present data.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Team player with the ability to contribute more widely to the direction of Clean Air Asias program.
- Experience working in different local governments in Indonesia is an advantage.
V. DURATION, REMUNERATION And OTHER BENEFITS
The selected candidate will be appointed from 01 September 2025 for twelve (12) months under a full-time consultancy contract, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance.
