Reporting to Senior Engineer Process Control, Electrical & Instrument Combine Cycle Power Plant, Engineer Control is responsible to assists in the overall engineering of Control & instrumentation, environmental and compliance programs for the power generating facility, preparation of and monitoring of the Control & Instrumentation budget
Some of your duties will include:
- Monitor control systems, analyzers, and instrumentation equipment performance, and report irregularities to Engineers/Senior Engineers.
- Perform calibration, inspection, and testing of control & instrumentation devices under established standards and procedures.
- Assist in preparing and updating documentation such as calibration logs, maintenance records, and simple control narratives.
- Input control & instrumentation data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensure accuracy of records.
- Support implementation of preventive maintenance and condition monitoring tasks related to control and instrumentation systems.
- Provide technical assistance during troubleshooting, commissioning, and shutdown/startup activities as directed by Engineers.
- Maintain compliance with ROI laws/regulations related to inspection, certification, and operation of C&I equipment.
- Participate in spare parts stock checks and assist Engineers in preparing spare parts requests.
- Ensure safe work practices, adherence to company procedures, and proper use of tools, PPE, and systems.
- Support audits, inspections, and other compliance-related activities.
- Authorized to perform calibration, inspection, and routine maintenance of C&I equipment according to established procedures.
- Authorized to access and update C&I data in CMMS under supervision of Engineer/Senior Engineer.
- Authorized to stop work and escalate issues when unsafe conditions or major abnormalities are identified.
- Authorized to request spare parts or materials for routine tasks in coordination with Engineers.
- Other duties as assigned.
What skills and experience do you need
- Degree in Control and Instrumentation Engineering or related field experience is required.
- Preferred or Specialized: University graduation, major Control and Instrumentation Engineering and at least eight to ten years directly related work experience
- 35 years of experience in instrumentation & control maintenance/engineering, preferably in power generation or industrial plants.
- University graduation, major Control and Instrumentation Engineering and at least eight to ten years directly related work experience
- Be able to calibrate and maintain field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
- Be able to support testing and validation of control loops and safety interlocks.
- Be able to enter, track, and update maintenance and calibration data in CMMS.
- Be able to assist Engineers in troubleshooting PLC/DCS system alarms and malfunctions.
- Be able to perform basic diagnostics on analyzers and control equipment.
- Be able to follow work permits, LOTO, and safety procedures during C&I tasks.
- Be able to interpret basic engineering drawings (loop diagrams, P&ID, C&E).
- Analytical skills process control engineers effectively analyze data sets to draw conclusions and make the right evaluations of procedures, so strong analytical skills are important to this job.
- Math skills process control engineers use math principles to troubleshoot design and analysis areas in their work.
- Problem-solving abilities in designing processes, process control engineers need to identify problems before or as they occur, such as safety issues and problems related to the power business units.
- Detail oriented process control engineers must have great attention detail in order to spot inaccuracies and faults, and find solutions to them.
- Computer literacy with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook software
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) sufficient to undertake this role.
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
- Strong computer skills and be competent in all Microsoft Office software programs, as well as project-specific software.
- Able to work on-site (Sumbawa Barat) with regular working hour schedule (no roster).
