This Position reports to:
Solutions Sales Leader - APAC
As a Power Generation Technical Specialist within ABB, you will be instrumental in designing and delivering high-performance automation and control solutions for utility-scale power generation projects. You will act as a technical authority and trusted advisor across thermal, combined-cycle, renewable, and energy storage applications, ensuring solutions meet operational, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Lead the architecture, design, and integration of control and automation systems for utility-scale power generation assets.
- Act as technical authority in pre-sales, tendering, execution, and commissioning, supporting FAT/SAT and system handover.
- Translate customer and EPC requirements into compliant, scalable solutions aligned with OEM product portfolios and standards (IEC, IEEE, SIL).
- Demonstrate deep expertise in DCS, PMS, SCADA/PLC, industrial networking, and cybersecurity for power generation environments.
- Collaborate closely with customers, EPCs, consultants, and internal teams to define solution strategies and build technical confidence.
- Drive risk assessment and compliance, including safety, cybersecurity, grid codes, and environmental regulations.
- Support commercial success by contributing to technically sound, risk-aware proposals and cost estimates.
- Promote adoption of digital and advanced control technologies (analytics, remote monitoring, digital twins) to improve plant performance.
- Apply 10+ years of experience in the power generation or energy sector, including senior-level responsibility for automation solutions.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, or related engineering (Master's degree and certifications are an advantage).
