About the Role

The Senior Project Manager Subsea Connection will lead the planning and execution of subsea transmission and interconnection infrastructure required to support the development of new geothermal generation assets.

The role covers the full lifecycle of marine infrastructure projects including engineering, procurement, offshore construction, subsea installation, commissioning, and operational handover.

This position requires strong expertise in marine operations, subsea construction, offshore project execution, contractor management, and regulatory coordination, ensuring safe and compliant delivery of complex subsea systems.

The role plays a key part in enabling reliable power transmission and supporting the successful integration of renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Subsea Project Leadership

Lead the execution of subsea construction and connection projects, ensuring safe and efficient delivery from engineering and procurement through installation, commissioning, and handover.

Marine Operations Oversight

Manage marine and subsea installation contractors, ensuring safe offshore operations and effective coordination of vessels, equipment, and installation activities.

EPC & D&C Contract Governance

Oversee EPC and Design & Construct (D&C) contracts including contractor selection support, contract administration, performance monitoring, variation control, and resolution of claims or disputes.

Safety & Environmental Compliance

Ensure compliance with marine safety standards, environmental protection requirements, and offshore regulatory frameworks throughout project execution.

Permitting & Regulatory Coordination

Manage marine permitting processes, subsea crossing approvals, and regulatory engagement with relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Engineering & Construction Integration

Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, marine construction, and offshore installation teams to ensure seamless execution across project phases.

Project Planning & Controls

Develop and manage integrated project schedules and budgets, ensuring disciplined cost control, risk mitigation, and performance monitoring.

Project Governance & Reporting

Provide structured reporting to senior management on project progress, risks, financial performance, and key decision points.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration is an advantage
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred
  • Relevant marine safety or SHE certifications are advantageous

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in energy, marine infrastructure, or power transmission projects
  • Proven experience delivering marine and subsea construction projects
  • Strong understanding of offshore installation, subsea systems, and marine construction operations
  • Experience managing EPC or Design & Construct (D&C) contracts
  • Experience with subsea permitting and crossing services is highly desirable
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and contractor management capabilities
