Job Description

MoneySmart Group is a trusted personal finance platform in Southeast Asia, helping consumers compare and apply for financial products such as loans, insurance, and credit cards. Founded in Singapore in 2009, our mission is to simplify complex financial decisions and empower people to make informed choices with confidence.

Mission

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who's energised by hard problems - someone who can take a blurry, open-ended challenge from zero to one, make sense of the messy bits, and deliver experiences that genuinely resonate.

You'll join a tight-knit design team ; two designers working closely with a Design Lead operating across dedicated squads, each with their own PM and engineering effort. Design floats across the product, which means you'll get exposure across a broad range of surfaces: from our comparison platform and financial advisory products to discovery and experience optimisation, all across Singapore and Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

  • Own problems end-to-end, from fuzzy brief to shipped experience, across comparison, financial advisory, and discovery surfaces
  • Do the research, make the call, synthesise user insights into clear problem statements and design decisions the team can act on
  • Deliver the craft, high-quality wireframes, prototypes, and final UI that are thoughtful, precise, and technically feasible
  • Push back when it matters, challenge assumptions, ask the uncomfortable questions, and advocate for the right solution
  • Float well across squads partner with dedicated PMs and engineers, and actively shape design culture and practice as you go
  • Use AI as a tool, not a buzzword. Bring it into your workflow to move faster, explore wider, and design smarter

Requirements

Core experience & skills

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership across complex, user-facing products
  • Strong 0-to-1 instincts: comfortable starting from a blank slate, shaping problem spaces, and making strategic design decisions with incomplete information
  • Exceptional communication skills you can hold a room, defend a decision, and align stakeholders without needing backup
  • Deep fluency in UX/UI principles, interaction design, and user research methodologies
  • High craft standards for visual design and your attention to detail shows in the work

Independence & problem-solving

  • Self-driven with a bias for action you identify gaps, take initiative, and don't need step-by-step direction to move forward
  • A structured thinker who can bring clarity to messy, complex problems without losing sight of the human on the other side
  • Comfortable challenging decisions upward and across you advocate for what's right, not just what's easy

AI literacy

  • Foundational understanding of how AI/ML systems work and how they affect product design decisions, user trust, and interaction patterns
  • Curiosity and comfort working on AI-powered product surfaces you understand the design implications and can navigate the unique UX challenges they present
  • Hands-on experience incorporating AI tools into your design workflow (e.g., generative design, AI-assisted research synthesis, prototyping accelerators is a plus)
  • Note: We provide ongoing training in our specific AI systems and tooling, you don't need to know everything on day one, but you need the mindset and foundation to grow fast

What's in it for you

  • Design has a real voice here, you won't be handed specs to execute. You'll shape the thinking, challenge the direction, and own the outcome
  • Grow the way you want to, we give people the autonomy to carve their own path, take on what excites them, and develop without being micromanaged
  • Work-life balance that's actually real, hybrid setup, a culture that trusts you, and a team that doesn't confuse long hours with good work
  • Hundreds of thousands of users across Singapore and Hong Kong making real financial decisions shaped by your design. The stakes are real, the impact is visible

MoneySmart Culture Values & Tenets

The traits we admire are core intrinsic qualities we look for in someone we want on our team, and we look for people who are Hungry, Humble and Smart. We also expect all our people to uphold the following company values:

  • Play to win as a team
