We Are Looking For

PDG is seeking a Senior Network and IT Security Engineer to own the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of our enterprise network across data center, WAN, and cloud environments. This is a hands-on role covering routing & switching, network security (firewalls/VPN), internet edge, monitoring, and resilience engineeringensuring high availability, performance, and strong security for business-critical services.

Your Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide L2/L3 support for PDG's enterprise network (LAN/WAN, data center, internet edge, wireless where applicable, firewalls/VPN)monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents/requests within agreed SLAs.
  • Design, implement, and continuously optimize campus and data center routing & switching (e.g., VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, VRF) to deliver stable, high-performance, and resilient connectivity.
  • Run and enhance data center network connectivity (e.g., leaf-spine, LAG/MLAG), partnering with infrastructure teams to support compute and storage platforms.
  • Own WAN and remote access services (MPLS/SD-WAN where applicable, IPSec/SSL VPN), including provider coordination, circuit turn-up, and end-to-end troubleshooting.
  • Administer and strengthen network security controls (firewalls, segmentation, NAT, IDS/IPS, WAF, DDoS, secure access/Zero Trust), including device hardening aligned to PDG's security standards.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning (SNMP/telemetry, syslog, NetFlow); lead complex troubleshooting, problem management, and root-cause analysis to prevent repeat incidents.
  • Collaborate with SOC/NOC on threat monitoring, log analysis, vulnerability assessments, and investigation/mitigation of network security incidents; produce clear post-incident RCA/CAPA reports.
  • Support cloud/hybrid networking (e.g., Azure/AWS virtual networks, VPN/ExpressRoute/Direct Connect) and automate routine operations (e.g., scripting/Ansible) to standardize builds, backups, compliance checks, and reporting.
  • Plan and deliver network changes (upgrades/migrations) via change management with risk and rollback plans. Partner closely with application and infrastructure teams, vendors, and service providers; participate in on-call and after-hours maintenance when required; and keep network/operations documentation current (diagrams, IP plans, policies, SOP/MOP/EOP, as-builts, handover notes).

Qualities You Should Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/IT (or equivalent). Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, AWS/Azure Networking, ITIL).
  • Minimum 8 years of network engineering experience, including hands-on operations and implementation in enterprise data center and WAN environments. Strong exposure to routing/switching, internet edge, network security, and network monitoring in 24/7 operations.
  • Strong hands-on capability across enterprise routing/switching and WAN (TCP/IP, VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS/VPN), internet edge, and 24/7 troubleshooting; comfortable coordinating with telcos/ISPs and familiar with structured cabling fundamentals.
  • Solid experience with data center networking (leaf-spine/spine-leaf, fabric concepts, redundancy) and common enterprise vendors (e.g., Cisco/Juniper/Arista/Aruba/Dell or equivalents).
  • Hands-on experience with network security technologies (firewalls, IPS/IDS, WAF, DDoS, proxy/SWG) and security practices (segmentation/micro-segmentation, NAC/access control, Zero Trust, hardening, vulnerability assessment, incident response).
  • Proactive, accountable, and collaborativewith strong troubleshooting/RCA, communication, and documentation skills. Able to drive changes/projects with vendors and stakeholders, mentor junior engineers, and participate in on-call/after-hours support.
  • Familiarity with monitoring/alerting (SNMP/telemetry, syslog, flow), plus exposure to cloud/hybrid networking and automation (e.g., Azure/AWS, Python/PowerShell/Bash/Ansible) is preferred. Knowledge of governance/compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001/20000/9001, PCI DSS, SOC 1/2) is an advantage.
