About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Game Designer to take full ownership of designing mobile games from concept to launch. You will be responsible for shaping the entire game experienceincluding gameplay mechanics, systems, progression, monetization logic, UI/UX flows, and overall feature roadmap. You will collaborate with programmers and artists to turn your vision into reality while participating in key decision-making discussions with project stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full game design lifecycle, from initial concept and core gameplay vision to final delivery on mobile platforms.
- Develop comprehensive Game Design Documents (GDD), feature specifications, UI/UX flows, content plans, and system economy frameworks.
- Create balanced game systems for progression, rewards, monetization, and player engagement suitable for Indonesia's mobile gaming market.
- Design user interfaces, tutorials, and onboarding experiences optimized for casual and simulation genre players.
- Collaborate closely with programmers and artists to ensure clarity of design intent and smooth implementation.
- Define feature roadmaps, game pillars, and content milestones to guide development priorities.
- Conduct playtests, gather feedback, and iterate designs to improve gameplay feel, retention, and monetization performance.
- Use data-driven thinking to evaluate gameplay performance and propose optimization strategies (live-ops experience is a plus but not mandatory).
- Stay current with mobile game market trends, particularly in casual and simulation genres, and proactively integrate best practices into design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- 6+ years of experience in Game Systems Design, preferably in mobile titles.
- Strong understanding of mobile player behavior, progression loops, and retention strategies.
- Ability to create structured documentation, wireframes, and data sheets to guide implementation teams.
- Familiarity with Unity and how design content integrates into the engine.
- Familiarity with version-controlled configuration tools or data pipelines.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to balance fun, difficulty, and long-term engagement.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to express design ideas clearly in documentation and in conversation.
Preferred:
- Prior experience releasing mobile games on Google Play and iOS App Store.
- Experience working with character-based IPs.
- Experience in simulation and/or casual mobile game genres.
- Experience in designing for the Indonesian or Southeast Asian mobile game market.
