About the Orange Movement

Launched in 2022, theOrange Movementis a global initiative led by IIX to integrategender equality and climate action into financial markets. At its core areOrange Bondsthe worlds first gender-lens and climate-focused asset classdesigned to:

  • MobilizeUS$10 billionin capital markets by 2030
  • Positively impact100 million women, girls, and gender minorities
  • Position women and gender minorities as leaders inclimate resilience and adaptation

The Orange Movement advances this vision throughcapital mobilization, policy reform, global partnerships, training, and advocacy. Supported by a three-year anchor grant from Australias DFAT, it now seeks aSenior Directorwho can scale the Movement into aglobal financial force.

Role Summary

TheSenior Director of the Orange Movementwill providestrategic vision, entrepreneurial drive, and organizational leadershipto expand the Movements reach, resources, and influence globally.

This senior leadership role will:

  • Build and managecross-functional teamswithin IIX and across global partners.
  • Push forwardOrange Capital transactions across markets, replicating successes such as Orange Bonds in Asia, Africa, and the U.S.
  • Spearheadtraining and market-building initiativeslike the Orange Bond Verifier Training to embed Orange standards globally.
  • Leadcoalition-building, fundraising, and advocacy, ensuring the Movement sets the benchmark for inclusive, climate-smart finance.

This position is ideal for avisionary leaderwith deep networks across finance, philanthropy, and developmentand the entrepreneurial capacity to mobilize a global movement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Partnerships & Global Alliances

  • Develop and execute aglobal strategyto expand the Orange Investor Alliance and Partner Coalition.
  • Engage institutional investors, DFIs, corporates, philanthropies, and governments to channel capital through Orange.
  • Build trust with policymakers, regulators, and multilaterals to embed Orange standards into financial systems.

2. Capital Mobilization & Market Growth

  • Drive the pipeline ofOrange Capital transactions across multiple markets.
  • Ensure through partnership and advocacy that Orange Bonds, Orange Bond Labeling, Orange Guarantees, Orange Seal etc are replicated globally, creating demonstration effects and new investor classes.
  • Mobilize both grants and catalytic capital to scale.

3. Training & Market Building

  • Lead the Orange Bond Verifier Training program and similar certification tracks.
  • Expand training offerings for investors, regulators, and issuers to build global confidence in Orange instruments.
  • Partner with universities, think tanks, and global institutions to mainstream Orange finance education.

4. Organizational & Ecosystem Leadership

  • Build and manage a high-performing Orange Movement team, fostering entrepreneurial, cross-functional collaboration.
  • Act as Secretariat for the Steering Committee, Advisory Council, and Working Groups.
  • Ensure inclusive, accountable, and transparent governance.

5. Advocacy, Convenings & Thought Leadership

  • Lead the flagship Orange Forum and other global convenings.
  • Curate high-impact campaigns that place Orange Financing at the center of global finance dialogues.
  • Publish research, thought leadership, and storytelling that amplify Oranges influence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Partnerships & Alliances: Onboard10+ new global partners annually
  • Fundraising: MobilizeUS$2M+ annuallyand secure multi-year funding with IIX senior management
  • Orange Capital Transactions: Deliver35 Orange issuances/initiatives annuallyacross markets
  • Training & Market Building: Train50+ Orange Bond verifiers and market actors annually
  • Advocacy & Convenings: Deliver3+ global campaigns/events annually

Candidate Profile

  • Education:Bachelors required; MBA/Masters in Business, Finance, Public Policy or International Development preferred
  • Experience:15+ years in strategic partnerships, capital markets, fundraising, or senior leadership roles in finance, philanthropy, or development in the Global South.
  • Expertise:Proven track record in capital mobilization, impact finance, or climate/gender initiatives
  • Leadership:Demonstrated ability tobuild and lead cross-functional teams, work across global stakeholders, and operate entrepreneurially
  • Networks:Deep connections with DFIs, investors, corporates, multilaterals, and donors
  • Skills:Exceptional fundraising, partnership-building, and strategic execution skills
  • Mindset:Visionary, entrepreneurial, and resilientable to push system-level change while operating in frontier markets
