Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia, an executive recruitment consultant firm, is recruiting on behalf of a multinational Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company. As part of its continued business expansion, our client is seeking a skilled (Senior) Commodity Specialist (Electro-Mechanical) to support sourcing activities, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost efficiency for new and existing projects. This position will be based in Batam, Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source electro-mechanical / mechanical components to support new and ongoing projects
- Perform cost analysis and supplier evaluation to select the best vendor based on cost, quality, and delivery
- Manage supplier relationships and handle commercial negotiations
- Drive cost reduction and VA/VE initiatives to achieve material cost targets
- Implement supply chain strategies such as JIT, VMI, and EDI capabilities
- Act as escalation point for delivery or supply issues during NPI and mass production stages
- Maintain accuracy of material and supplier data in SAP
- Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to support project execution
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in EMS, electronics manufacturing, or multinational manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in sourcing electro-mechanical commodities such as plastics, cables, connectors, modules, PCBs, or related components
- Good knowledge of supplier selection, cost analysis, and procurement processes in Indonesia market
- Experience supporting NPI / manufacturing projects is highly preferred
- Familiar with SAP and Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
