Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims Operations team at PT Marsh. This role will be based in Jakarta. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This role is responsible for managing, negotiating, and resolving major and complex insurance claims efficiently and strategically. You will be part of a dynamic team that works closely with clients, insurers, and various stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes while protecting the firm's reputation.

We will count on you to:

Claims Management

  • Lead end-to-end handling of large and complex claims across Property, Energy, CAR/EAR, Marine, Liability, Cyber, Business Interruption, etc.
  • Review policy coverage, warranties, endorsements, and exclusions to determine claim strategy
  • Coordinate with loss adjusters, forensic accountants, forensic engineers, recovery specialists, surveyors, and legal advisors
  • Prepare, compile, and review claim documents, evidence, quantum assessments, and settlement proposals
  • Monitor claim progress, milestones, and timelines to ensure prompt resolution

Client Advisory & Communication

  • Act as primary claims advisor for key corporate accounts
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on claim strategy, coverage interpretation, mitigation steps, and documentation
  • Lead client meetings, site visits, and negotiation sessions
  • Deliver regular claim status reports and executive summaries to clients and management

Negotiation & Settlement

  • Negotiate settlements with insurers and other stakeholders to secure favorable outcomes
  • Escalate disputed claims and drive resolution through mediation, appraisal, regulator, or arbitration if required
  • Support recovery or subrogation processes where applicable
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with placement, risk advisory, and account management teams
  • Coordinate with international networks or global markets when required for multinational claims
  • Maintain effective communication with insurer senior claims team and management

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure all claims processes comply with OJK, internal SOPs, and market regulations
  • Maintain accurate claim files, documentation, and Management Information System reporting
  • Track reserves and financial impact of major claims

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Insurance, Risk Management, Engineering, Finance, or related fields
  • Minimum 7 years experience in handling large or complex claims (broker, insurer, adjuster, or legal background)
  • Strong technical knowledge of property, industrial, energy, construction, marine or liability insurance
  • Experience managing high-value/complex losses (e.g., fires, machinery breakdown, natural disasters, power plants, infrastructure projects, BI/PD claims)
