PT Utama Globalindo Cargo (UGC Logistics) is a freight forwarding company serving domestic and international logistics needs across Indonesia. As we scale our commercial capabilities, we are restructuring our Business, Commercial & Operations function to better serve our clients with integrated, responsive, and competitive logistics solutions.

The Role

We are seeking a Sales & Commercial Assistant Manager to lead our Sales & Commercial Team. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Business, Commercial & Operations, you will lead a team of sales professionals, drive revenue growth across domestic and export-import services, and shape the commercial strategy that underpins UGC's expansion.

This is a leadership role, not an individual contributor position. We are looking for someone who builds and develops sales teams, structures pipeline discipline, and partners closely with Operations and Procurement to deliver competitive, profitable solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and evaluate the performance of the sales team in achieving individual and team targets
  • Set and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets, ensuring delivery through structured coaching and pipeline reviews
  • Direct prospecting and new customer acquisition activities across domestic and export-import services
  • Review commercial proposals and quotations prepared by the team before submission to clients
  • Develop and execute customer retention programs to strengthen relationships with existing accounts
  • Lead market intelligence and competitor analysis activities, translating insights into commercial action
  • Coordinate with Domestics and EXIM Operations to ensure feasibility of services offered
  • Coordinate with the Procurement & Vendor Management Team for current vendor rates and costing data
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales forecasts based on consolidated team pipeline data
  • Contribute to pricing strategy formulation in partnership with the Senior Manager and Procurement & VM Team
  • Ensure timely follow-up of inbound leads and continuous improvement of conversion rates

  • Achievement of monthly revenue target (minimum 100%)
  • New customer acquisition (minimum 3 to 5 new clients per salesperson per month)
  • Sales conversion rate above 25%
  • Customer retention rate above 85%
  • Average response time to inquiries within 4 working hours
  • Proposal win rate above 30%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline; logistics, business, or supply chain background is preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain industries
  • Demonstrated track record of consistent sales target achievement
  • Proven experience leading or supervising a sales team (this is a leadership role)
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Solid analytical capability in market assessment and sales strategy formulation
  • Proficient with CRM tools and Microsoft Office
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written
  • Established network within the logistics or related industries is a strong advantage
