Description
We are partnering with a global food ingredients organisation to appoint an Indonesia-based Regional Commercial Leader to drive growth across Southeast Asia and North Asia, covering Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Korea. This is a highly entrepreneurial role, offering full ownership of the region with responsibility for both direct accounts and a network of distribution partners.
Responsibilities
This position is designed for a commercially driven leader who thrives in a high-growth, performance-oriented environment. You will take full accountability for developing and executing the regional growth strategy, identifying key opportunities, and translating them into tangible commercial results. Operating within a lean structure, you will lead a small team while working extensively through distributors, requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on execution.
In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the commercial strategy across the region, identifying critical growth levers and converting them into actionable plans that drive market share expansion. You will manage the full sales cycle end-to-end, from building pipelines and engaging customers through to negotiation, contracting, and delivery against revenue and margin targets.
You will work closely with distribution partners, ensuring clear direction, accountability, and alignment to commercial objectives, while also directly engaging key customers to drive value-based selling and long-term partnerships. A strong focus will be placed on identifying niche opportunities, optimising routes to market, and continuously refining the commercial approach to maximise impact.
Beyond strategy, you will be expected to roll up your sleeves and execute, whether that involves driving pricing initiatives, solving customer challenges, building pipelines, or stepping in to unblock issues across the sales process. Success in this role will come from a combination of sharp strategic thinking and disciplined, hands-on delivery, with a clear focus on achieving measurable results.
You will also play a key leadership role within the region, setting the tone for execution excellence, influencing stakeholders across functions, and fostering a culture of accountability and ownership.
Requirement
The ideal candidate will bring significant commercial experience within the food ingredients or related industry, with a strong understanding of regional market dynamics across Southeast Asia. You will have a proven track record of developing and executing growth strategies, managing distributors, and driving business expansion across multiple markets.
You are someone who naturally takes ownership, demonstrates initiative, and does not wait for direction to move things forward. At the same time, you are comfortable operating at both strategic and executional levels, with the ability to translate plans into action and deliver results. Experience managing complex sales cycles, negotiating commercial agreements, and working within a multinational environment will be important.
Strong influencing skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate ambiguity are essential, as is a willingness to be hands-on in a dynamic and evolving business environment.
