Job Description

SUMMARY OF ROLE: Under the supervision of the Project Lead, a Quantitative Research Officer - Tobacco Control will work with internal and external parties for planning, implementation, analysis, and reporting of CISDIs research projects focusing on tobacco taxation advocacy.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelors in Economics, Public Health, Health Economics, Economic Development, or related fields;
  2. Min. 1 (one) year of experience in policy-oriented research (public health, tobacco control, or taxation preferred);
  3. Advanced skills in data management and primary data collection. The ability to design a research framework and methodology is an advantage;
  4. Strong quantitative and statistical analysis foundation, such as econometric/statistical techniques: linear regression (ordinary least square/OLS), maximum likelihood, and correlation tests;
  5. Skilled in economic modeling, including elasticity, cost-benefit, and fiscal impact analysis.
  6. Being experienced in analyzing big data in Indonesia (Survei Kesehatan Indonesia, Susenas, Riskesdas, etc) is an advantage;
  7. Proficient in STATA and with spreadsheets as primary analysis tools;
  8. Experience in interpreting economic data in the context of fiscal policy, taxation, and health financing. Capability in translating research findings into policy insights is preferable;
  9. Experienced in preparing policy briefs, reports, and presentations;
  10. An understanding of health economic issues and tobacco control is preferable;
  11. Have a good understanding of scientific writing in both English and Indonesian;
  12. Ability to work under the supervision of senior researchers while also taking initiative;
  13. Comfortable engaging with government, CSOs, and academic institutions.
