Quality Assurance Engineer

About this position

The candidate that will succeed in this position will be able to create all the testing and automation frameworks as required for their projects. Thus, the candidate may have to work on multiple projects once, also working to improve the company's best practices from a testing a standpoint.

What you will do

1. Design, develop, and execute test cases for digital banking features.
2. Identify and report defects related to functionality, security, and performance.
3. Perform simulation testing for production defects, both before and after fixes are deployed.
4. Collaborate with the development team to ensure compliance with banking regulations.
5. Handle additional assignments as directed by the Quality Assurance Lead.

What you will need

Basic Requirements

1. 2-3 years of experience in software testing, with 1-2 years hands-on experience in automation
2. Experience in regulated or financial services environment
3. Understands payment flows (authorization vs posting, idempotency keys, retries), reconciliation impacts, and failure modes (timeouts, partial success)
4. Has an understanding of data privacy (UU PDP) basics
5. Experience in negative/abuse testing: rate limit, OTP misuse, tamper scenarios, etc.

Technical Skillset

1. Programming: Java/Typescript/Phyton
2. Web UI automation: Selenium WebDriver or Playwright/Cypress
3. Mobile automation: Appium (Android/iOS), device/emulator setup, basic device-farm use
4. API Testing & automation: REST/GraphQL, Postman + Newman or REST-Assured, schema validation (OpenAPI/Swagger), contract testing basics
5. Version control/Git: Branching, PR Reviews, merge strategies, tagging
6. Test design: risk-based testing, boundary/partitioning, state transition, BDD/Gherkin is a plus
7. Data & DB: SQL for validation, test data creation/anonymization
8. Reporting & observability: Grafana for reports, basic log tracing
9. Performance smoke: create lightweight k6/JMeter smoke/perf sanity
