Job Description
QA Engineer
Location: Indonesia
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Engineering
We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our engineering team and help us build reliable, stable, and user-friendly software.
You will work closely with developers, product, and other teams to test new features, identify problems before they reach customers, and improve the overall quality of our applications.
This is a hands-on QA role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable testing software themselves, investigating issues, understanding how applications work, and communicating clearly with developers.
What You'll Do
- Test web applications and APIs across different browsers and devices.
- Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and regression test suites.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Test new features before they are released to production.
- Identify, reproduce, document, and track bugs with clear steps and evidence.
- Work closely with developers to investigate and resolve issues.
- Verify bug fixes and make sure fixes do not introduce new problems.
- Test API endpoints, including request parameters, responses, authentication, validation, and error handling.
- Perform basic database checks to verify that application behavior matches the underlying data.
- Test different user roles, permissions, and access restrictions.
- Help identify edge cases and scenarios that may not be covered by standard testing.
- Participate in release testing and help determine whether a feature is ready for production.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, test coverage, and automation over time.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in software QA or software testing.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Experience testing web-based applications.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Good understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, authentication, and common web application behavior.
- Ability to analyze a problem and reliably reproduce it.
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with developers.
- Comfortable working in an Agile or iterative development environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage testing tasks within deadlines.
Nice to Have
- Experience with automated testing using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar.
- Experience with API automation.
- Experience testing applications built with PHP, Go, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with performance testing or monitoring.
- Familiarity with tools such as Sentry, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience testing SaaS or multi-tenant applications.
- Experience testing payment, scheduling, POS, inventory, or other transactional systems.
What Makes You a Good QA Engineer Here
We value QA engineers who don't simply say:
The test passed.
We want someone who asks:
- What happens if the user does this twice
- What happens if the request fails halfway through
- What happens with invalid or unexpected data
- Can another user access this data
- What happens when two users perform the same action at the same time
- What happens on a slow or unreliable connection
- Does the fix actually solve the original problem
- Could this change break something somewhere else
You should be comfortable thinking beyond the happy path.
Our Development Environment
You will work with a modern web-based software environment involving:
- PHP and Go backend services
- JavaScript-based frontends
- REST APIs
- PostgreSQL and other databases
- AWS and cloud infrastructure
- Git-based development workflows
- CI/CD
- Monitoring and error tracking
You do not need to know every technology listed above. What matters most is your ability to understand how software works and systematically test it.
What We Offer
- Work directly with developers and product teams.
- Opportunity to influence how our products are tested and released.
- Exposure to real-world SaaS applications and cloud infrastructure.
- Opportunity to grow into test automation and broader quality engineering.
- A practical engineering environment where finding problems is valued, not blamed.
How to Apply
Please send us:
- Your CV/resume
- A brief introduction about yourself
- Your QA/testing experience
