Job Description

Job Summary

Coordinates all Purchasing activities in the hotel ensuring the efficient ordering and supply of hotel goods and services at the best available prices

Key Responsibility

  1. To direct and coordinate all day-to-day purchasing matters ensuring they are handled on time.
  2. To ensure that real and competitive quotes are negotiated for all items ensuring hotel receives value for money on items purchased and hotel expenses are properly controlled.
  3. Coordinates with receiving regarding delivery and receiving schedules ensuring items meet the required standards and quantities.
  4. To coordinate with Accounts regarding purchase order payments, down payments and deposits ensuring the hotel does not incur delays to delivery of products and services.
  5. Establishes and maintains procedures to acquire market information regarding new or alternative products and updated prices including detailed market surveys.
  6. Coordinates the purchase specifications with Department Heads ensuring items purchased meet the operational requirements and items are purchased accordingly.
  7. Maintains accurate and updated database of suppliers and products.

Requirements

  1. Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  2. Able to Hotel accounting system (VHP)
  3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  4. Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
  5. Good Communication and writing skills
