Job Description

Project Background

Across ASEAN, rapid growth in internet and smartphone use has increased adolescents time online for learning, socialising, and entertainment. While digitalisation brings benefits, it also exposes young people to cyberbullying, harmful content, online exploitation, and mental health risks, highlighting the need to strengthen digital resilience and support systems.

Plan International, as the regional grantee of the Google-funded Global Teen Digital Wellbeing Initiative in Asia-Pacific, is implementing the program across all 11 ASEAN Member States, aiming to reach 11 million people by 2027 through curriculum delivery, community engagement, and multi-channel campaigns.

In partnership with the ASEAN Foundation and local partners, the initiative promotes healthy digital habits and online safety through culturally adapted learning, strengthening digital wellbeing skills among youth, caregivers, and educators while supporting safe and inclusive digital environments.

The Opportunity

The Project Coordinator will lead overall project implementation and supervise the Communications, MER, and Finance Officers to ensure quality delivery across programmatic, monitoring, and financial components. The role covers full-cycle project management, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and advocacy alignment with regional coordination and ASEAN Foundation policy strategies.

Key Responsibility :

Project Management:

  • Lead project design, planning, and implementation in line with CS5 objectives.
  • Develop and manage key documents and systems (SAP, PMERL, DIP, and other internal tools).
  • Ensure compliance with operational, audit, and safeguarding standards.
  • Develop exit and sustainability strategies from early stages.
  • Coordinate with donors, government, partners, and communities.
  • Oversee monitoring, evaluation, research dissemination, and high-quality reporting.
  • Lead project closure, asset handover, sustainability follow-up, and final reporting.
  • Mainstream GEDSI and safeguarding throughout all project stages.

Communication and Reporting

  • Monitor progress and expenditure regularly using dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Prepare quarterly internal reports and donor reports as required.
  • Collaborate with Communications to produce learning documentation, case studies, Op-Eds, and knowledge products.
  • Support advocacy and represent Plan in relevant networks and forums.

Networks and Partnership:

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with youth networks, schools, government, and NGOs.
  • Support partner assessments and capacity strengthening.
  • Promote Plan Indonesia as a youth-focused organisation advancing girls rights and gender equality.
  • Collaborate on advocacy campaigns and youth-led initiatives, including engagement with YAP and Planet.

Management: People, System, and Process:

  • Supervise and mentor project team members.
  • Manage budgets and financial processes in SAP.
  • Uphold safeguarding, PSHEA, ethical financial practices, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and youth-centred environment across implementation.

Requirements for The Role:

Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 23 years experience in project management within development/humanitarian settings.
  • Experience managing donor-funded projects, including compliance and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of digital wellbeing, online safety, adolescent development, and child protection.
  • Experience working with implementing partners and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Familiarity with LMS and digital engagement tools.
  • Strong English and Bahasa Indonesia proficiency.
