Purpose of the role

  1. The purpose of this role is to procure the right materials and/or services to meet Merak plant's production needs, in a timely fashion, at the right cost, through selecting the capable suppliers or contractors by using the right sourcing and contracting strategies.
  2. This role contributes to the safe and reliable operation, supplier performance management, and cost reduction.
  3. Actively seeking the opportunity by collaborating with stakeholders, suppliers and market to potentially generate benefit to company.

Key results/accountabilities expected from the role

  1. Lead and participate in identifying sourcing needs, development of specification and scope definition for equipment, materials and services
  2. Engage with stakeholders, challenge demand appropriately and critically reviews requisitions, specifications and scope.
  3. Involved in supplier selection. Conduct market research and source the market for best opportunities, partners and alternatives which fit for purpose.
  4. Pricing/terms negotiation: ensure purchasing at the most competitive possible price with the highest quality merchandise and services in accordance with the technical specifications and (project) requirements.
  5. Benchmark prices and commercial conditions to determine competitive price setting
  6. Prepare and issue purchase orders or coordinate with person assigned to create PO. Ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained throughout the process.
  7. Implement and execute contract renewal strategies and ensure timely renewal of all contracts
  8. Evaluate and monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes. Documenting performance and service level agreements and monitoring vendor/supplier performance against those agreements.
  9. Manage contractor qualification process and coordinate SHE evaluation.
  10. Contract Management Plan. Analise the spend, supplier data for the development of suitable contracting strategy, procurement strategy and sourcing strategies, and execute such strategies.
  11. Drive the simplification in his procurement area process whenever appropriate by collaborating with stakeholders and implementing it
  12. Strategic mindset with hands on person

Role requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferably Industrial, Chemical and Mechanical, Management Economy, or Supply Chain Management.
  2. At least 5 years of working experience in procurement and manufacturing in petrochemical. Same industry experience will be an advantage
  3. Experience with SAP for procurement module or other ERP systems
  4. Combination experience in handling logistic (import), familiar with custom clearance process will be an advantage
