Purpose of the role
- Manage and control overall day-to-day process operation activity to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operation.
- Manage and control overall day-to-day operation variable cost to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operation.
Key Results/Accountabilities expected from the role
IMS (Integrated Management System)
Implement & assure QEHS policy, documenting, evaluating & improving QEHS and its monitoring.
Safety, Health and Environment (SHE)
- Ensure the implementation of SHE management policy, starting from the availability of documentation on SHE procedures up to the course of the process of SHE management changes and comply with INEOS 20 safety principles and lifesaving rules.
- Provide engineering support for operation and process safety activities to ensure plant run within safe operating design (Team member on HAZOP, risk assessment)
People
Plan and coordinate operation engineering processes on daily basis to achieve daily production quantity and meet budget.
Plant process and asset monitoring
- Develop operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives by performing engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages.
- Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements by developing the best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability
- Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
- Identify unsafe operations and practices and make proposals for improvement and working together with process coordinator, process safety Engineer to review/update existing NOL, SOL & SDL.
- Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions.
- Responsible for preparing an operation report in case of upset condition/interruption, equipment failure and process safety issue.
- Support plant start-up and shutdown to ensure minimum loss of production time and profits
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Providing a support team with technical support and training to transfer specific know-how to the operator to develop operator and new operator
- Participate actively in asset care activities.
Plant Improvement and Project
Deploy improvement from Technology team, other INEOS sites, and vendor. Manage the implementation of the FEL Study and determination of conceptual design, economic analysis, process development, support project, execution in process engineering scope, commissioning, and post project evaluation in order to increase capacity and production efficiency, cost reduction, and EHS compliance or improvement.
Key challenges
- Plant running with high load with some equipment already in maximum load and equipment reliability issue.
- Achieving variable cost as defined target
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or higher in Chemical Engineering
- 23 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within a Petrochemical manufacturing
- Proficient in performing detailed heat and material balance calculations for process optimization
- Skilled in using process simulation and design software, including ASPEN Plus and ASPEN HYSYS
- Strong analytical capabilities in data interpretation and performance evaluation
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) with a proven ability to transfer technical knowledge across teams
- Professional level fluency in English
- Experienced in developing clear, structured technical reports and documentation
- Self-motivated with a continuous learning mindset, especially in daily operational improvement and technical skill enhancement
