Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & People Management
- Build and lead a technically strong Safety & Risk team, ensuring continuous improvement through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Drive staff development, training, engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Foster collaboration across ERM's regional practices and create a culture of Health & Safety that ensures incident-free operations.
- Mentor team members to become future leaders and effective Safety & Risk consultants.
- Business Development & Client Management
- Develop and execute a business strategy to grow ERM's Safety & Risk services in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region.
- Build and expand client relationships to generate repeat business and strategic growth.
- Prepare technical proposals and lead business development efforts with existing and new clients.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen to identify risks, challenges, and corporate opportunities.
- Project Management & Delivery
- Manage complex technical and interdisciplinary projects to international standards, ensuring commitments to clients and ERM are met.
- Oversee project scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining ERM's quality standards.
- Appropriately delegate assignments and mentor junior staff to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Technical Guidance & Expertise
- Act as Technical Reviewer for project deliverables, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on Malaysian regulations and international standards relevant to oil & gas, chemical, and high-tech sectors.
- Provide technical expertise in hazard and risk assessments for exploration, production, refining, and distribution facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (Master's or professional certification preferred).
- 913 years in Safety & Risk Engineering, ideally in oil & gas, chemical, or high-tech sectors.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, Bow-Tie Analysis, SIL studies, and consequence modelling.
- Proven ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and manage complex projects.
- Experience in business development, client engagement, and delivering strategic growth.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills in English; ability to present technical concepts clearly.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety, flexibility to travel, and ability to work independently.
