Role Overview:
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for building the Golden Path, a standardized, self-service ecosystem that allows product teams to deploy applications that are resilient by default.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers developing a centralized platform (Internal Developer Portal) to standardize how 100+ global teams spin up, manage, and scale cloud applications.
- Architect for Resiliency: Oversee the implementation of multi-region and multi-cloud failover strategies, ensuring infrastructure is abstracted so apps can migrate seamlessly during outages.
- Standardize Infrastructure-as-Code: Drive the adoption of reusable, compliant templates for Compute, Storage, and Networking (Kubernetes, Terraform) to eliminate snowflake configurations across the company.
- Manage Capacity & Delivery: Act as the Scrum Lead for the platform group, balancing the urgent need for migration support with long-term architectural stability.
- Mentorship: Coach a high-performing team of 5-10 Site Reliability and Platform Engineers, fostering a culture of Automate Everything.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Strategic Leadership: 3+ years managing software or infrastructure engineering teams in a high-growth environment.
- Platform Mindset: Proven experience treating Infrastructure-as-a-Product (building tools for other developers).
- Modern Tech Stack: High-level understanding of Kubernetes, Service Meshes (Istio), and Cloud-Native networking.
- Crisis Management: Experience designing or managing high-availability systems (99.99%+) and disaster recovery protocols.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex infrastructure risks into business impact for non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
- Post-Mortem Expertise: Experience leading a team through a major public cloud outage or significant system migration.
- API-First Approach: Experience building Internal APIs or Gateways to simplify complex cloud operations.
- Global Scale: Experience managing platforms that support hundreds of distributed microservices.
