Main Responsibilities
As a Mining Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the optimal execution of the open-pit production plan. In this role, your main tasks will include:
- Developing annual production programs and monthly schedules in coordination with planning engineers;
- Defining the human resources, equipment, and consumables needed for production;
- Supervising mining operations implementation in accordance with operational procedures and performance objectives;
- Ensuring continuity and efficiency of production means, in collaboration with maintenance teams;
- Monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing technical indicators, operating ratios, and production costs;
- Collecting and validating production data to ensure accurate billing and reporting;
- Leading production teams: participating in recruitment, monitoring performance, supporting skill development, and providing managerial guidance;
- Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of mining methods and processes;
- Ensuring strict compliance with QHSE standards within your area of responsibility and during interdepartmental interactions;
- Managing investment projects related to production;
- Maintaining clear communication with other departments (geology, processing, maintenance, logistics) and external contractors;
- Producing technical activity reports and proposing optimization initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of open-pit mining operations and techniques;
- Proficiency in production planning, organization, and operational follow-up;
- Understanding of geology, maintenance, mineral processing, CAD, logistics, and mining economics;
- Good knowledge of QHSE standards and best practices;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities;
- Natural leadership and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong sense of commitment, discipline, and responsibility.
Education & Experience
- Engineering degree (or equivalent Bac+5) in Mining Engineering or a related field;
- At least 3 years of confirmed experience in a similar position in an open-pit mining environment;
- Experience on a greenfield/start-up project is a plus.
Assignment
Position based in Senegal, with a rotation system and on-site mobility
