Mandarin Teacher (Part Time)
General Description:
We are seeking dynamic individuals to teach Mandarin classes for students attending preschool through Grade 6 in our center. Each session will run for 45 to 60 minutes.
Task & Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering lessons: You design lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and educational goals. These lessons encompass various aspects of Kiddo&aposs curriculum.
- Providing instruction: You teach students using a variety of teaching methods and strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. This may involve direct instruction, group work, interactive activities, multimedia resources, and technology integration.
- Assessing student progress: You regularly assess students&apos understanding and proficiency through quizzes, tests, projects, presentations, essays, and other forms of assessment. You provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills and achieve learning objectives.
- Differentiating instruction: You tailor your teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students, including English language learners, students with learning disabilities, and gifted students. This may involve adapting materials, providing additional support, or offering enrichment opportunities.
- Creating a positive learning environment: You foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn. You establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance and enforce classroom management strategies as needed.
- Collaborating with colleagues and parents: You collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to coordinate curriculum, share resources, and address student needs. You communicate regularly with education consultants to update them on their child&aposs progress and solicit their involvement in their education.
- Professional development: You engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay informed about best practices in Kiddo Club, new teaching methods, educational technology tools, and curriculum standards. This may include attending workshops, conferences, seminars, and pursuing advanced degrees or certifications.
- Promoting literacy: You cultivate a love of reading and writing by introducing students to a variety of literary genres, authors, and texts. You encourage independent reading and writing both inside and outside the classroom and facilitate discussions to deepen students&apos understanding and appreciation of literature.
- Never be late to start the class and the lesson must start on time. If no students are present the teacher must wait in the class for 15 minutes before asking the front desk staff to call the students.
- The lesson must finish on and not before time. Lessons should not finish more than 5 minutes late unless specifically arranged with the students.
- All equipment and online needs must be prepared and ready for use before the lesson.
- Take the attendance register at the beginning of each class. (to ensure the class runs effectively, you are encouraged to come up with strategies to make sure that the students do not come late to the class.)
- Never leave students unattended during class time.
- Frequently spend time in the lobby or lounge areas mixing with parents and students and being accessible.
Requirements:
- Fluent in English & Mandarin, with preferable HSK 4 (min HSK 3)
- Previous experience in teaching, particularly within an international school or national plus setting.
- Proficiency in teaching strategies and pedagogies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging and interactive Mandarin lessons.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and online teaching platforms.
- Willingness to participate in training and certification programs provided by Kiddo.id Partners and Kiddo Club.
