Job Description

Role Overview

This role supports the China Service Desk, with a primary focus on China ODI initiatives and liaison support for projects involving the Group team in China. The position integrates business development support, project coordination, and senior-level stakeholder engagement, acting as a trusted on-the-ground interface between Chinese investors and partners and the Indonesia delivery teams.

Key duties/responsibilities:

Business Development & China-Facing Engagement

-Meet independently or jointly with Chinese investors, introducers, chambers, and partners to:

  • Introduce group capabilities in Indonesia
  • Discuss client objectives and investment plans
  • Provide initial strategic guidance on legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory considerations in Indonesia

-Support preparation of service proposals, scopes, and commercial discussions, in coordination with Group China Desk and Indonesia team

-Follow up with prospects to facilitate conversion from inquiry to engagement

-Represent the China Service Desk at:

  • China business associations
  • Chambers of commerce
  • Investor and government-related events in Indonesia

-Contribute to expanding China-related ODI pipelines for Indonesia and strengthening long-term relationships

Project & Account Coordination

-Research and stay updated on Indonesia (and ASEAN) FDI-related regulations, including:

  • Company establishment
  • Licensing
  • Tax, accounting, and compliance requirements

-Translate China investor expectations into clear, executable scopes for Indonesia delivery teams

-Coordinate internally with:

  • Indonesia technical teams
  • China Service Desk
  • Regional subject matter experts (tax, accounting, legal)

-Assist in managing client communication during:

  • Early-stage feasibility
  • Proposal clarification
  • Handover to execution teams

-Proactively flag risks, regulatory constraints, or scope gaps to avoid downstream issues

Public Relations, Knowledge & Market Intelligence

-Support the development of Indonesia Briefing and other China-oriented materials together with the editorial/marketing teams

-Build and maintain relationships with:

  • Professional firms
  • Business associations
  • Investment-related institutions active in China–Indonesia corridors

-Participate in or support seminars, briefings, hosting delegations, and roadshows aimed at Chinese investors

Key Skills & Seniority Expectations

-Educational Background & Technical Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree or above (business, economics, law, accounting, or related fields preferred)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in corporate services / professional services
  • Solid understanding of company incorporation, corporate ongoing compliance, tax / accounting fundamentals

-Exposure to FDI to Indonesia / China ODI projects is a strong plus

-Able to interact confidently with:

  • Chinese decision makers
  • Investors and chambers
  • Local Indonesian stakeholders

-Strong cross-cultural communication skills

-Commercially aware, with sound judgment on feasibility and risk

-Structured, proactive, and able to work with evolving processes

-Professional demeanor suitable for senior-facing, relationship-driven environments

Language Abilities

  • Fluent Mandarin and English (spoken and written)
  • Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is highly desirable
  • Comfortable conducting meetings and presentations with senior stakeholders
