PT Kredit Biro Indonesia Jaya (Credit Bureau Indonesia, CBI) as one of the private credit bureaus in Indonesia has been established since 2014 and obtained an operational license from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) as
Lembaga Pengelola Informasi Perkreditan (LPIP) in 2015.
In November 2021, after obtaining approval from OJK, CBI received additional capital from shareholders and appointed a new management team, which aims to provide new and leading-edge services and products. This new identity will also strengthen CBI's position as the best-in-class, modern and innovative credit bureau in Indonesia.

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Legal Counsel to support the company's legal and regulatory functions within Indonesia's credit bureau and financial services ecosystem. This role will provide strategic legal guidance across business initiatives, regulatory matters, and corporate governance while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including those governed by
Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK).
The Legal Counsel will work closely with cross-functional teams to support business growth, manage legal risks, and ensure that all business activities align with regulatory requirements in a highly regulated industry.
Job Description
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents and agreements related to the company's business operations.
- Provide clear, practical, and commercially focused legal advice on regulatory and legal matters raised by internal stakeholders, ensuring business objectives are achieved while minimizing legal and compliance risks.
- Partner closely with business units to understand operational needs and deliver pragmatic legal solutions; coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Support existing and new business initiatives by providing legal guidance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring initiatives are implemented in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage general corporate legal matters, including regulatory compliance, corporate documentation, and legal administrative processes.
- Liaise with regulators and ensure the company maintains compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Oversee corporate legal documentation and ensure proper legal administration in coordination with internal operational teams.
Job Requirements
- 58 years of legal experience, preferably within Credit Bureau, financial services, fintech, banking, or other regulated industries.
- Proven experience engaging with regulators such as OJK and handling regulatory or compliance matters.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and commercial agreements.
- Ability to manage complex legal issues and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
