We are pleased to announce an opening for the position of Legal, UAC, and Compliance Executive based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Key Responsibilities:
Uncleared & Abandoned Cargo (UAC)
- Notify customers immediately regarding abandoned cargo cases (import and export) in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate closely with related internal departments to support customer engagement and ensure timely clearance of UAC cases.
- Actively chase customers for resolution of abandoned cargo cases, including making calls, sending invitations for meetings, and attending customer premises when required.
- Distribute UAC notifications to customers promptly and issue reminders to branches on longstanding UAC cases.
- Liaise internally across MSC Indonesia branches and coordinate with MSC Port of Discharge (POD) or Port of Loading (POL) as required.
- Seek advice from MSC Principal in Geneva on settlement schemes and decisions for UAC cases.
- Implement Principal's decisions on settlement, including cargo auction, donation, reexport to origin, stripping, destruction, or other approved measures.
- Coordinate with port authorities, customs, and internal teams to support timely cargo disposition.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports for all UAC cases.
- Compile weekly reports on abandoned/uncleared cargo and update Themis system in a timely manner
- Prepare update to Senior Manager.
Legal
- Support the review and preparation of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with Indonesian maritime laws and MSC global standards.
- Liaise with external legal (if so required) and internal stakeholders on routine legal matters.
- Prepare update to Senior Manager.
Compliance
- Carry out compliance checks, assist in audits, and ensure adherence to company policies, Indonesian maritime laws, and MSC global standards.
- Support the Senior Manager in reporting compliance risks/issues to management and MSC Legal Dept Geneva, recommending corrective actions, and preparing accurate compliance documentation and reports.
- Assist Senior Manager in implementing compliance training and awareness programs for staff, ensuring all departments understand and follow regulatory requirements.
- Monitor validity, prepare renewals, liaise with authorities, and work with operations and finance teams to integrate permit/license requirements, maintain records, and track upcoming renewals to safeguard smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in law
- Minimum 4 years of experience
- Knowledge about Shipping law
- Understand cases related to Uncleared & Abandoned Cargo (UAC) in Shipping Logistics and
- Knowledge on Permit and licenses in Shipping Logistics and general shipping
- Fluent English both oral and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
