About the Opportunity

This role is part of a confidential expansion initiative within a fast-growing FMCG group as the organization accelerates its presence in the Modern Trade channel. The business is strengthening its commercial capabilities to drive sustainable growth, expand key account coverage, and establish strong partnerships with national and regional modern trade customers.

Role Summary

The Key Account Manager Modern Trade is responsible for driving revenue growth and managing strategic relationships with modern trade partners. This role owns the end-to-end account management cycle, from business development and negotiation to execution, performance tracking, and post-sales engagement.

The role works closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution, strong in-store presence, and alignment between commercial strategy and operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Account Growth

  • Drive achievement of assigned sales targets by developing sustainable growth across key modern trade accounts.
  • Identify, acquire, and onboard new modern trade partners while maximizing revenue through up-selling and cross-selling within existing accounts.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, commercial negotiation, deal execution, and ongoing account follow-up.

Key Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with modern trade partners, positioning the company as a trusted commercial partner.
  • Develop structured account plans, joint business plans (JBP), and promotional strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure effective execution of agreed programs, pricing, and promotional activities in-store.

Market & Commercial Insights

  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing structures, promotions, and trade initiatives to generate actionable market insights.
  • Analyze market trends, channel dynamics, and customer performance to provide recommendations for commercial optimization.
  • Translate data and insights into clear strategies to drive distribution, volume, and value growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure product availability, smooth execution, and service excellence.
  • Coordinate internally to support launches, promotions, and key commercial initiatives.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Prepare regular sales performance reports, account reviews, and business updates.
  • Participate actively in sales and management review meetings to track progress and align next steps.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Modern Trade, Key Account Management, or Branch Management within the FMCG industry.
  • Experience in Personal Care, Skincare, or Beauty categories is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in managing modern trade accounts; experience with health & beauty retailers is a plus.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Highly results-oriented, self-driven, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data and market insights into actionable strategies.
