Junior Developer

My client is a global company that specialises in user-driven technology for the Oil and Gas Industry. We are currently looking for a new Junior Developer to join our team.

As a member of the development team, you will be a key player in building innovative products that encompass the future of data management, visualisation, and analytics in our industry. Our Developers work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile/DevOps environment. You will be able to deliver high-quality code and be able to build reliable and scalable applications.

As a Junior Developer, you&aposll be involved in writing and testing code as part of your daily work. Youll help build and improve software features, and make sure your code works correctly by using basic unit testing tools.

Youll work closely with other developers and team members to make sure your work supports the overall goals of the project and the business. It&aposs important to be dependable, eager to learn, and open to new ideas. You should be able to complete tasks on time and ask for help when needed.

Good communication is keyyoull be expected to share updates on your progress and let your team lead or manager know if you need anything to move forward. Were looking for someone whos motivated, willing to grow, and ready to take on new challenges as they come.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the software development and maintenance of applications.
• Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver functional components.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• A degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Communicate progress and blockers effectively with the project lead.
• Work closely with other developers and other staff (including but not limited to Product Manager, Operations, Testers, etc.).

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Basic understanding of Javascript & Typescript.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Basic understanding of C#.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and client-server architecture.
• Familiarity with relational database systems such as Microsoft SQL or PostgreSQL.
• Exposure to Agile development processes.

Essential Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
