We are looking for a Database Support to join our IT team and support daily database operations. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in database concepts, SQL, and system operations, who are ready to work in a dynamic, shift-based environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma (D3) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in database support, system support, or a related role.
- Willing to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts and weekends.
Technical Requirements
- Basic proficiency in SQL, including SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE.
- Basic knowledge of Linux commands, such as ls, cd, grep, tail, top, df, and similar.
- Ability to read and understand system logs and database logs.
- Understanding of basic troubleshooting workflows and the ability to perform initial analysis before escalation.
- Knowledge of fundamental database concepts, including:
- Tables, Primary Keys, and Foreign Keys
- Indexing and basic normalization
- Understanding of database monitoring, backup, and restore processes.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
- Familiarity with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as:
- MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
What You Will Do
- Monitor daily database operations and system performance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and incident handling.
- Support database backup and restore activities.
- Analyze logs and document issues before escalation.
- Work closely with senior team members and follow established operational procedures.
