Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented
Japanese-Speaking Video Editor to join our team and create compelling video content for one of our valued clients in
Japan. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for visual storytelling, excellent technical skills, and the ability to craft engaging videos that resonate with audiences across digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit high-quality videos for social media, digital platforms, and marketing campaigns
- Create visually engaging short-form content (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and long-form videos as needed
- Design motion graphics, text overlays, captions, and subtitles (Japanese and English) to enhance storytelling
- Select and edit background music, sound effects, and voiceovers that complement the content
- Maintain consistent visual style and brand tone across all content
- Optimize video formats and resolutions for various social media platforms
- Collaborate with creative teams to align videos with project goals and brand identity
- Stay current with social media trends and video editing techniques
- Manage and organize video assets and project files efficiently
Requirements
Must-Have Requirements
- Proven experience as a Video Editor with a strong portfolio demonstrating your work
- Japanese language proficiency (minimum JLPT N3 level)
- Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar)
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, composition, and visual aesthetics
- Ability to create engaging hooks and maintain viewer attention
- Experience with motion graphics and animation
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
- Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Higher Japanese language proficiency (N2 or N1)
- Familiarity with Japanese video editing tools and/or AI tools popular in Japan
- Experience with AI-assisted editing tools (Runway, Pika, Adobe AI, CapCut AI, Midjourney)
- Background in branding, design, or visual storytelling
- Experience editing for diverse content genres (lifestyle, beauty, corporate, entertainment)
- Understanding of platform-specific content styles and best practices
