About the Role:
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the companys network infrastructure and data center environment while adhering to high-security standards typical of the banking sector. You will ensure network availability, security, and performance to support daily business operations, as well as collaborate with other IT teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot network-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the companys LAN/WAN infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) and data center environment (colocation).
- Implement and monitor strict network security policies in line with banking industry standards and regulations, including firewall and VPN configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network/system issues such as connectivity disruptions, latency problems, or low bandwidth.
- Participate in planning and implementing new network and system projects, including infrastructure expansion and device upgrades.
- Maintain and update technical documentation (network diagrams, inventories, SOPs).
- Proactively monitor network/system performance to identify potential issues before impacting operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to meet network and IT operational needs.
- Support IT operations including server management (hardware/software), backups, and system maintenance.
About You:
- Bachelors degree (S1) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years as a Network Engineer or similar role, preferably with experience in data centers and/or banking.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI Model).
- Skilled in configuring/managing devices from major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Mikrotik).
- Proficient in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching (VLAN, STP).
- Experienced in firewalls (FortiGate, Palo Alto) and VPNs.
- Familiar with data center environments (spine-leaf architecture, optical cabling).
- Knowledge of banking security standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
- Basic knowledge of IT operations: server management (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), backup systems.
- Willing to work in shifts (including early morning, late night, or public holidays).
- Familiar with Windows, macOS, and essential productivity tools.
- Quick learner, adaptable to new technologies.
- Strong ownership, independent, and able to work under minimal supervision.
- Understanding of organizational workflows and escalation paths.
- Certifications: CCNA, JNCIA, CCNP (preferred).
- Analytical and structured problem-solving ability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work both independently and in a team.
- Resilient under pressure and capable of handling urgent issues.
Additional Value (Nice to Have):
- Cloud networking experience (AWS, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of cloud network management (VPC/VNet, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, load balancing).
