Position Summary:

The Back Office Operations role is responsible for ensuring the stability, efficiency, and effectiveness of IT infrastructure and back-office systems that support the retail companys head office and enterprise functions. This role oversees day-to-day IT operations, manages critical infrastructure services (servers, storage, networks, cloud, and end-user systems), and ensures smooth operation of back-office applications such as ERP, HR, Finance, and other corporate systems.The position requires a strong technical background, hands-on operational expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high service availability, security, and performance across all IT back-office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and monitor IT infrastructure for head office and enterprise systems (applications, servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and cloud services).

Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of IT services supporting corporate/back-office functions.

Oversee day-to-day IT operations, system administration, and technical support for internal teams.

Develop, maintain, and enforce IT operational policies, standards, and procedures.Back Office Systems Support

Provide operational support for ERP, HR, Finance, Payroll, and other back-office applications.

Coordinate with application teams and vendors to ensure proper integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of corporate systems.

Monitor system performance and optimize resources to meet business requirements.Service Delivery & Support

Manage IT service requests, incidents, and problem resolution in alignment with IT Service Management best practices.

Provide Level 2/3 technical support and guidance to internal IT teams and end users.

Ensure proper documentation of systems, processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.Security & Compliance

Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure and systems.

Ensure compliance with internal IT policies, data protection regulations, and industry standards.

Coordinate with security teams for patch management, vulnerability assessments, and risk mitigation.Projects & Continuous Improvement

Support IT infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments.

Continuously review IT operations to improve efficiency, automation, and service quality.

Work with business stakeholders to understand needs and propose IT solutions for back-office operations

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).Experience:

5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure & Operations, with at least 2 years supporting enterprise/back-office systems.

Strong background in managing Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), networking, and cloud platforms.

Experience with ERP, HR, or Finance application support in a retail or corporate environment.

Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management best practices.Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of application, server, storage, and network administration.

Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange, and collaboration tools.

Knowledge of database administration (SQL) for back-office systems.

Cloud operations and monitoring.

Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) a plus.
