Job Description

  • Plan and manage import material requirements based on production schedules, MRP, and purchase orders
  • Track and monitor import shipments via sea, air, or express, including ETD/ETA and delivery status
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders (SCM, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance)
  • Ensure all import documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant (Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB, COO, HS Code, etc.)
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels for imported materials to avoid shortages, overstock, or dead stock
  • Follow up on customs clearance activities and proactively resolve shipment delays or import-related issues
  • Analyze lead times, shipment methods, and cost implications, including express shipments when necessary
  • Support cost optimization initiatives related to import logistics and customs duties
  • Update shipment status, material data, and reports in ERP or tracking systems
  • Assist with audits, compliance checks, and internal reporting related to import operations
  • Identify and escalate risks affecting material availability, delivery timelines, or specification changes
